Men's Open Recap

Do you want to know about efficiency?  California is your team. They gave up 1 goal in the entire tournament...and that was in the final against a team from their own pool, Central Florida.  California needed  a wild card to get in.  They won the tournament with only 5 goals scored in their 6 games.  They took care of business and got the job done.  They won the quarterfinal and semifinal in PKs.  They had 3 games that ended in 0-0 scores.  But in a tournament, you need resilience to advance. Cal had it and were very efficient in doing so.

They were led by Aziz Yehia as he won Most Outstanding Goalkeeper in the Men's Open Division and by Tournament Most Valuable Player Amir Guedoir.

They are joined on the All-Tournament Team by:

Arthur Rietdyk, California
Matthew Anderson, California
Brandon Braumuller, Central Florida
Matthew Gaskins, Central Florida
Andres Perotti, Central Florida
Julian Ruzzier-Gaul, California-Davis
Maximilien Bergman, California-Davis
Andrew Wohl, Oregon
Joe Jackson, Oregon
Yassine Hamdouni Alami, UCLA

Congratulations to all of the players and to the University of California-Berkeley on winning the Men's Open Division Championship!
